The Williamson Family is so proud to be celebrating a 110 years of family farming! Our family homesteaded on the sunny slopes of the Snake River Valley back in 1909. The Williamson family has always striven to be good stewards of the land and to adapt with the climate and the times. Over the next year we will share a few historical “snap shots” of life on the family farm.

We had such a great response to our 4th annual soup contest this year with 10 entries. All the contestants brought their “A” game soups and our guests were given the difficult task of choosing the winning soup each day. Our Winners have graciously shared their soup recipes, and we hope you enjoy sharing these winning soups with your family and friends.

After a brief drought period between vintages we are happy to announce that we have Sangiovese again!
The new 2016 vintage is a bright red and translucent wine with aromas of tart berries, fennel, violets and sunlit earth. Notice the intensity of tart flavors of cranberry and hints of cedar. This wine is wonderful to pair with food because it has great tannins but its just so freaking smooth! We recommend serving this slightly cooler than room temperature.

Try serving our Sangiovese with Italian inspired dishes, Italian cheeses, turkey, and roast pork. Basil, sage, and oregano complement this wine.

Available in our tasting room for $20.00

Wine Down Wednesday ~ Grilling Gurus

Our October Wine Down Wednesday was such a fun event. Rob and Michelle Stokes of Malheur River Meats supplied a wonderful,  uncured bratwurst and amazing pork sirloin chops for our guests to enjoy. Rob spoke about his family’s ranch and how important it is to them to treat their livestock in the most humane and sustainable way.

After guests had a chance to ask questions of Rob,  Nate Lindskoog of The Tower Grill took over the grilling. Nate also talked about plating the finished product and jazzed up the pork with grilled acorn squash and fried sage leaves. Yum!

Don’t wait to enter, we are  limited to 10 submissions.

This fun and delicious contest will be held the weekend after Thanksgiving; November 23, 24, & 25. The contest started as a friendly competition between Williamson family and staff and has grown over the years to encompass submissions from our followers. We are looking for up to 10 soup entries. Soup enthusiasts will pick one of the three days where they will prepare and share their unique and tasty soup. Over 3 days, guests will sample and choose their favorite. On each day of the contest, the soup with the most votes will be awarded a bottle of Williamson’s wine.

Please note: all soups must be delivered to our tasting room by 11am of your preferred date. We ask that you provide your own crock pot to keep your soup warm throughout the day. We will provide all ladles, cups and spoons. You can pick up your crock pot between 5pm and 6pm that same day or during business hours the following days. The soup with the highest votes for that day will win a bottle of wine!

Our second annual Winemaker’s Dinner was held September 21st and was an enchanting evening of perfect weather, a beautiful sunset and delicious food. Our winemaker, Greg Koenig, and chef, Aaron Horsewood, made the night an event to remember by speaking to the guests about how the wine and food complemented each other. The highlight of the evening for Williamson Vineyards was the release of our first vintage of Malbec.
